Don Beachy, Senior Pastor
Pastor Don and his wife Joanne recently came to Beacon Hill from the midwest, where they raised their three sons and gained a wonderful daughter-in-law. He has a M.A. in Communication from the University of Cincinnati and M.Div. from Trinity International University in Chicago, IL and spent the last 20 years in pastoral ministry in Indianapolis.
He’s been described (rather accurately) as a goofball who’s a kid at heart, a charcoal-snob who thinks everything tastes better with smoke and fire, and a sports fanatic who thinks finding the right volume level on the TV will help the Colts and UC Bearcats win. He’s been playing guitar for decades, and enjoys live music, guy-flicks, Thai food, and touring on his motorcycle. As a preacher, Don loves trying to make God’s word understandable in its original context and applicable to everyday life today. He and Joanne are passionate about helping the church engage locally, invest globally, and connect internally through genuine friendships. |
Drew and Erika Pothanszky, Directors of Music
Drew: "I can be as stubborn and self-absorbed as the next guy. I can be overwhelmed, over-stressed, and nearly overcome by a thousand daily details. The world is broken, and I'm not far behind.
Fortunately for all concerned, it’s not about me. I have been blessed with a fantastic team: my wife Erika who is great at everything that I am not, my incredibly talented daughter Elena, my brother Audie the "sweatpants monk," the rest of my incredibly talented volunteers and our spirited congregation. Each week as we stir up a blend of contemporary music and traditional hymns, I am blown away by the journey the Spirit takes us on. Worship amazes me. When we lift up our voices in praise, we try to express our thankfulness to the Lord. To glorify His Name with an offering of praise. To give voice to emotions difficult to express any other way. And as we put aside the world’s junk, a cool thing happens: We are reminded through God's grace and mercy that we are forgiven, and free to Worship. Who could have thought of that but God? |
